A TWENTY YEAR LEGACY
The Bardbarians team was started in 2005 by Dr. Andrew Goldsweig while he was finishing his medical degree at NYU. This year marks the team's 20th year
In 2006, Professor Kyung Cho joined BHSEC-Manhattan and took over as the coach and faculty advisor.
Because there are so few middle and elementary school frisbee programs in NYC, the team has always been a place where kids can walk on to a completely new sport or explore team athletics for the first time.

AS AN ULTIMATE FRISBEE COMMUNITY LEADER, ZACH SITS ON THE BOARD OF DISCNY, THE NONPROFIT GOVERNING BODY OF THE SPORT IN NEW YORK. IN HIS TIME WITH DISCNY, ZACH STARTED THE PAY-WHAT-YOU-CAN PROGRAM, LOWERING COST BARRIERS FOR PARTICIPANTS, AND THE ANNUAL FUNDRAISING GALA.

Shooting BARDbarians is one of Peter Drogin’s favorite things.
A former four-year team chaperone, Peter has been photo-documenting the BARDbarians since his son Alex joined the team in 2017. He was very fortunate to have been on hand to record the BARDbarians’ extraordinary back-to-back-to back City and State Champion win streak from 2019-2021. Alex graduated, but Peter never left the sidelines.
Peter played ultimate informally in high school and was a bid-loving cutter for his college team back when 165g Wham-O discs ruled the field. Don’t let Peter’s gray hair fool you: he hasn’t lost his touch for beating a mark or dropping dimes.
